"Assemblage is a powerful process for art making and catharsis. The things we collect become stand-ins for the rich texture of our souls." -w.catling

I studied Fine Art at Azusa Pacific University in Azusa, California.  Eight years ago, Kansas City became my home away from home; the city of fountains, filled with diversity and artists.  I've been privileged to meet and know several young visionaries - creative geniuses in their own rite whose stories and passions both compel and inform my own sense of place in a post modern culture.

My studio is filled to the brim with eclectic and fascinating oddities rescued while rummaging through dumpsters and salvaging roadside detritus.  Finding value in the broken, rusted and derelict, assemblage gives form and voice to my personal journey as a visual artist; permission to unlock the secret doors, to excavate and revive the sequestered archaic dry bones in the valley of my soul while exploring the depth of longing and need inherent to the human condition. In the dim silence of the night, my preferred time for art-making, my home studio becomes a cloistered nest of creative incubation; a solace outside the box.  A hidden place of solitude and contemplative rest, where deep calls unto deep and the waters of silence nourish my soul.
